The Israel National Museum of Science, Planning & Technology

Daniel & Matilde Recanati Center

The Museum, housed in the historic Technion building in Haifa offers visitors - children, teenagers and adults - hands-on experience in the principles of science and technology. Interactive exhibits can be operated by visitors of all ages. These enable understanding of diverse scientific phenomena which we encounter in our everyday lives, such as: How are sound waves created? How do we see color? What is a magnet? How does electricity work?

Over 180,000 people per year visit the Museum and participate in programs.

Promote our greatest natural resource, our youth...

Support science and technology programs for youth, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds and minority groups through:

  • Scholarships to year-round afternoon science workshops held at the Museum.
  • Subsidies for admission to“Science-made-fun” activities during holidays and vacations for disadvantaged school children and their families.
  • Science kits sent monthly to homebound/sick children.
  • Mobile Laboratory bringing science and technology to youth in peripheral areas.
  • Headstart Program for the OlympiYeda “Olympics of the Mind” science contest for 8th and 9th graders from Israel and the English-speaking Diaspora.
