Have you been blessed with healthy children? Families with autistic children are "on-call" 24 hours a day, everyday to meet their child's special needs. Israeli families living under an existing stressful national situation, find themselves especially in need of support in coping with the stress and demands of caring for their autistic child.
Can appropriate therapy help autistic children? Yes. A young child may bang his head against the wall until he looses consciouness. Through appropriate therapy this behavior can stop. Art, music and other innovative therapies are integral in the educational program at Ofer School in Haifa which serves as a Center for all of Northern Israel.
An Ecological-Psychological Center to develop lifellong abilities in autistic children through therapeutic gardening and caring for animals is under construction.
